The Network Forum Africa Meeting

19 - 20 March 2019, Cape Town, South Africa

We are committed to the long-term growth of Africa, and we sponsor and participate in events and forums that develop and strengthen connections across the continent.

This is a key gathering point for over 150 capital market leaders from an asset management and servicing, investment banking and custody background.

It aimed to provide a structured networking environment for this tight-knit industry group, in which key issues were discussed, developments  communicated, and best practice shared. Considering the importance of strengthening this important competency on the continent, Standard Bank is a joint lead partner and sponsor of The Network Forum Africa meeting.

Our participation will include sharing our deep experience in African markets, where:

• Rajesh Ramsundhar, Head: Investor Services South Africa was part of a panel discussion on “CSDs in the spotlight - Best Practice Harmonisation Settlement Efficiencies, Collaborative Measures and Lessons Learnt.”

• Charl Bruyns, Head: Investor Services and Financial Institutions, provided the Chairman’s opening and closing remarks.

• Hari Chaitanya, Head: Investor Services Product Management, was part of an extended panel discussion session on “‘FinTech on focus’ on how it’s evolving in Africa and beyond? An in-depth expose of emerging technology and collaborative initiatives in the pipeline.”

“Africa’s relatively under-developed capital markets continue to present broad opportunity for the region to leapfrog into best-in-class global capital markets technology to deepen their capital market, drive intra- Africa investment and attract larger share of global portfolio flows,” said Hari Chaitanya, Head, Investor Services Product Management, Transactional Products and Services.
